Her book Schapbook, “Ceremonies,” was released by dancing girl press in 2014. This collection drew from her residency at Los Dos Brujas writers’ conference, where she studied with Juan Felipe Herrera at the Ghost Ranch, near Albuquerque NM. She received a conference scholarship and a CAAP grant. Her prior chapbook, “Debris: Poems and Memoir,” received acclaim from “Femficatio” (London) and “Voices in Wartime” (Seattle, US), and is still available through Puddin’headpress.
She holds an MA in English/Writers Program from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a BA in English/Humanities from Barat College. A year of undergraduate coursework was completed at Oxford University. She was a university teacher for over 21 years.
